ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

A message from the creators of The Boston Fiction Festival:

Early in 2005, we were in the process of developing an on-line literary journal. However, being writers ourselves, we realized that the web and the publishing world were already chock-full of great literary journals. Now don’t get us wrong, we love journals, but we figured that we shouldn’t go ahead with our project unless we could think of something new and different to offer.

We scrapped the journal idea and spent several months trying to generate something new. Something that would be full of life and energy, and it was through sheer serendipity that we came up with the idea of the Festival in the summer of 2005. The idea is simple: live readings in front of live audiences. After all, the heart of fiction is in the storytelling. And, from that moment on, we were determined to bring great stories by great writers to a great festival. It’s that simple.

The second annual Boston Fiction Festival is coming in the summer of 2007. We do hope you’ll join us.
